POL S 354 Topics in Comparative Politics: Nationalism in Europe

This course examines theories and debates of the politics of nationalism in Europe with attention to the varying forms and intersections such as: race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality. We will study the impact of nationalism through case studies including: Nazi Germany, the migration/refugee crisis, diaspora politics, the war in Ukraine, and the rise of the far right.
